About Individual Therapy

Therapy is a collaborative process aimed at enhancing mental well-being and fostering personal growth. As a therapist, I embrace a multi-faceted approach to support clients in navigating life's challenges. My theoretical perspective is primarily rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which focus on the interplay between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. These modalities empower clients to identify and modify unhelpful patterns, develop emotional regulation skills, and cultivate resilience.

Additionally, I incorporate motivational interviewing (MI) techniques to facilitate client engagement and readiness for change, recognizing the importance of personal motivation in the therapeutic journey. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is another vital component of my practice, allowing clients to process traumatic memories and reduce distress through innovative visualization techniques.

While my practice is grounded in these evidence-based modalities, I also acknowledge the significance of psychodynamic elements. This perspective emphasizes the exploration of unconscious processes and past experiences, helping clients gain insight into their current behaviors and emotional responses. By integrating these approaches, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, leading to meaningful and lasting change.

About Couples Counseling

Couples counseling is a transformative journey designed to help partners strengthen their connection, enhance communication, and navigate the complexities of their relationship. My approach to couples therapy is deeply rooted in attachment theory, which emphasizes the importance of emotional bonds and how early experiences shape our relational dynamics. Understanding each partner's attachment style allows us to uncover underlying patterns and foster a secure emotional environment.

In addition to attachment theory, I utilize the Gottman Method, a research-based approach that focuses on building healthy relationships through effective communication, conflict resolution, and mutual respect. This method equips couples with practical tools to enhance their emotional intimacy, manage conflict constructively, and cultivate a deeper understanding of each other’s needs.

Together, we will explore the unique dynamics of your relationship, identify areas for growth, and develop strategies to strengthen your bond. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where both partners can express their thoughts and feelings openly, leading to a more fulfilling and resilient partnership. Through this collaborative process, couples can rediscover their connection and build a foundation for lasting love and understanding.
